Founder & Creative Director – Kay Niskanen
Kay Niskanen is the Founder and Creative Director of The Boardroom, a contemporary design house redefining corporate fashion for the modern professional. Established in 2025, the brand merges refined tailoring with individuality, offering elevated corporate wear that moves beyond the traditional uniform.
Originally from Botswana, Kay studied banking and finance before building a career in Singapore’s events industry, where her passion for fashion took shape. Now based in Cape
Town, she brings years of experience as a stylist for high-end brands, magazines, and commercial productions.
The Boardroom is rooted in African craftsmanship, ethical production, and meticulous tailoring, working closely with artisans and responsibly sourced fabrics to create purposeful,
modern designs. Driven by the belief that corporate attire should evolve with the workplace, Kay designs pieces that empower professionals and reflect the identity of forward-thinking brands and professionals.
